Retiring the Original Geekido Wiki
by Chris Cooke on Jun.07, 2010, under Uncategorized
I’ve had to retire the Original Geekido Wiki. The code was super old and not actively maintained. Not surprisingly, it was loaded with SQL injection vulnerabilities, which were being actively exploited. I could clean up the code, but I don’t really have the time, so I’m just retiring the wiki.
If I get a chance, I’ll see if I can make static reproductions of the pages, at least some key pages, for the sake of posterity. If nothing else, I’ll pull any information that isn’t horribly out of date and make an entry here for it.
USB Hub in Prius? Nope!
by Chris Cooke on Jun.06, 2010, under Uncategorized
Yesterday I tried to use an unpowered USB hub in my 2010 Prius, so see if I could charge two iPhones at once.
Nope! It did not like the hub. In fact, it seemed to disable the port, for when I removed the hub, I still couldn’t connect a single iPhone with a single cable. Power cycling the car cleared the disabled port, but I never got the hub to work. I reproduced the behavior for several trials.
